Collaboration with the American-Scandinavian Foundation
The American-Scandinavian Foundation (ASF) and Norwegian Crafts are collaborating on a grant scheme to fund Fellowships for Norwegian artists to attend the Haystack Mountain School of Crafts Summer Program. A publicly supported American nonprofit organization, The ASF promotes firsthand exchange of intellectual and creative influence between the United States and the Nordic countries. They have an extensive program of fellowships, grants, intern/trainee sponsorship, publishing, and cultural activities.
«Norwegian Crafts is very thankful to be collaborating with The ASF. With the grant scheme in place, We now has the possibility to send up to six artists, over the next three years, to one of the leading craft residencies in the world»Tonje Kjellevold, External Relations and Grants, Norwegian Crafts
The collaboration will support 1-2 Norwegian Fellowships annually, offering US$3,000 in funding for each selected artist, to cover tuition, room and board, workshop fees/materials and partial travel expenses. The selected Fellows are also eligible for the Norwegian Association for Arts and Crafts’ travel fund (NOK 5000), to supplement their travel expenses.
