V&A buys Norwegian silver

Leif Stangebye-Nielsen: Slow Motion

During Collect 2014 – The International Art Fair for Contemporary Objects, which took place during 9-12 May at Saatchi Gallery in London, the stand representing the Norwegian gallery Format received a great amount of attention. In addition to private sales, the Victoria & Albert Museum bought a silver work by Leif Stangebye-Nielsen for its collection.

‘The sale of Leif Stangebye-Nielsen’s work Slow Motion was definitely the highlight for both the artist and the gallery at this year’s Collect fair. To be included in the Victoria & Albert Museum’s collection is an important confirmation for an artist, as this is one of the world’s leading institution for crafts and design’, says Irija Øwre, managing director at Galleri Format.
