On Friday, 9 May 2014, the former Galleri Format in Bergen reopened as a new venue for contemporary crafts under the name KRAFT. During the winter, the gallery’s physical space, which is located in a former bank in the centre of Bergen, was refurbished and its concept redesigned. The new name means ‘power’ in Norwegian, and the new profile is meant to reflect the vitality and multiple focal areas of the gallery. For the reopening, KRAFT showed the exhibition DEMIURG by David Bielander, a jewellery exhibition curated by Benjamin Lingel, and a furniture exhibition by Morten & Jonas. Like its predecessor, KRAFT sells new works by Norwegian craft artists.
